We wrapped our shoot late Saturday night in Long Beach. The shoot went very well. The set looked great and the dancers were wonderful. We had an excellent turn out for our performance day last Wednesday. I'm looking forward to releasing the new titles.

We've all had them... those special moments that make you laugh, make you cry, inspire you, or embarrass you beyond belief! But it's all good, and it's an important part of what shapes our lives as performers and helps us bond as human beings. So IAMED would like to hear about your most memorable belly dance experience if you would like to share - good, bad, funny, or otherwise - we look forward to hearing from YOU!

Essay should be 300 to 800 words.

Why I Love Bellydance!

I had always been attracted to the idea of belly dance and took a couple of classes when in my 20’s, but like most of my endeavors in those days, I didn’t stick with it. Many years later a boyfriend of mine made the comment, “My Mom belly dances; yup, my Dad’s a lucky guy.” He made it sound like a mathematical equation: Mom bellydances = Dad’s a lucky guy. When I asked him how old his mother was, he said, “65, but you’d never know it.” Somehow hearing this re-inspired me, for real this time, to take up a serious study of bellydancing. The first teacher I located wasn’t a good one. I didn’t give up, though, and found a dancing haven with my first real teacher.

BellyDance.org Anniversary

On January 30th we will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of bellydance.org! Its incredible to believe that its been that long.

We did have an internet presence prior to bellydance.org. Our website, like many websites at that time were part of an internet service company's website. I don't have an exact date when we were first on line but I believe it was late 1997.

We've seen many updates and the site has gone through 5 re-designs since its inception.
